Adam Long - Nature Sculpture

Covid has not crimped our style! Zoom has opened up opportunities so we are not limited to local artists for programs. Be sure to mark your calendar for November 17 - Adam Long from St. Charles, Missouri will share from his studio his wonderful Nature Sculpture art. You won't want to miss this! November 17, 2020, 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Members will receive email links.

Humankind tends to view itself as separated from and above its environment.  My work is ultimately about humanity and explores our connection to nature, our place in it and how we seek to explore and understand our environment.  My sculptures examine many facets of what it means to be human while, hopefully, bringing nature back to us by using natural and man-made found objects.  We are not apart from nature, but a part of it.

Patrick Flaherty October 20th, 2020 program

Patrick Flaherty was the juror for our present TAF exhibit.  He took the time to write comments for each painting that was entered.  He also commented on the use of Indiana local color and the observation that other colors could be used.  We are intrigued but his comments.  He has consented to bring us a virtual program, October 20, at 7:00.  The link will be provided.  It should be a very interesting evening.

She also enjoys experimenting with new ways to incorporate yarns, silks and other fibers into her felting to create texture and dimension in her work. She has exhibited her work at the Mid-States Craft Exhibition, many juried art fairs and is a two-time recipient of the People's Choice Award at Art on the Wabash
