Laura Ricks Painting with Felt

Tuesday, July 19, 7:00 - 8:30pm, Laura Ricks will present our monthly program at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette, 102 South 10th Street, Lafayette, Indiana.

Thank you for visiting Emerald Hill Textiles and welcome to the site. The works which can be viewed here were designed and created with care by Laura Ricks, a Lafayette, Indiana artist. The main body of her work and true creative passion lies in wool and wet felting. She loves to add needle felted and sewn details to many of her pieces, which gives them an extra level of definition, depth and drama. She loves creating natural scenes and landscapes inspired by her rural Indiana surroundings and occasionally by her travels. She is a co-owner of Artists’ Own Cooperative Artist Gallery and has begun teaching her craft in online tutorials available at feltingtutorials.com.

June 2022 Program - Rachel Witte - Westminster Village Art Program Coordinator

 cropped WVAS logo.jpg

Art friends,

It is June - 2022 is nearly half over already!  We in WVAS have had some very exciting events these past months.   One big one was the garage sale that netted $2,000 that was donated to Ukraine.  Lyuba sent an update that it will be featured on channel 18 news tonight.  Be sure to tune in!
 Here is her message:
Today, Channel 18 made an interview at TAF about fundraiser and local artists’ donations to Ukrainian charities. They show donated paintings in evening news today.
Could you inform our artists, please.
Thank you in advance.
Lyuba

June Program, Tuesday, June 21, 7:00PM  Rachel Witt - Art Programming Coordinator for Westminster Village - Program AT WESTMINSTER VILLAGE, LIVE WELL ENTRY, in the art room.
Rachel is always imagining new things to make art accessible to the residents which she will share with us. Here is just one example: Introducing Gaston the giraffe who will bring art experiences to seniors not able to come to the art rooms. He will be collaged with their art throughout the year. Rachel is a mosaic artist herself, but excels in learning and facilitating countless art media for the residents. It will be a fascinating evening.
