Cynthia Rosen

I recently came across this oil painter. Her work is colorful and appealing. She paints figures, still life, and landscapes:

I also find her blog especially thought-provoking:

I recommend reading back through at least the last 1/2 dozen posts--and don't miss the ones on style and on fear. Good stuff!

Plein Air Paint Out at Prophetstown

Seven WVAS members enjoyed the plein air paintout at Prophetstown this morning. It was a balmy, windy beautiful fall day. After a morning of painting, lunch at TC's in Battleground, Indiana, topped off the experience. These photos are our paintings in progress.

Blending Film and Painting

Huffington Post describes a film about Van Gogh made with his paintings as well as other paintings based on his. It's hard to explain, so go look at the main website:

And then the trailers posted on HuffPost:

At the same time, you may bring a painting to be hung at Sylvias during the holiday season until January.  Be sure to attach a paper on the back of your painting with your name, title, medium and price.  Make sure no saw tooth hangers, wire hangers please.  Remember paintings cannot be removed off the wall until January.  If they are purchased, the artist will be notified and can replace it with another painting.
