Saturday, August 16th

THE PLAN

• Meet at 8:00am at Canal Park (Wabash & Erie Canal, 1030 N. Washington St., Delphi, In 46923)

• Morning - paint plein air from the variety of venues to choose from, bridges, mill, cabin
• Lunch - 12:30 at The Garden Gate Tea House (http://gardengateteahouse.com)

• Afternoon - Visit Rena Brouwer’s gallery at the Methodist Church.

If you would like to car pool, contact Marilyn Martin, 567 - 7144 to leave from Battleground, or Jerie Artz to leave from West Lafayette.  We’ll leave by 7:30.  

This is our August meeting.  Plan on joining us for a wonderful day of painting and artsy fun!

It is also the “Bacon Festival” in Delphi that day!

July Dinner Meeting at Sylvias

We had a great time enjoying dinner at Sylvia's Brick Oven this week.  the new paintings are hung and ready for the Friday Artwalk tomorrow night!

July Meeting Change!

We have a change in our July Wabash Valley Watercolor Society monthly program.  Next Tuesday, July 15th, we were to visit the new gallery in West Lafayette, Artists Gone Wild.  We are sorry to say that because it was not financially sustainable,  the gallery had to close its doors.  We wish Josh and Jake Kubisz the best for their art careers.

We will now meet at Sylvia's Brick Oven for dinner at 6:30, July 15th.  It is time to change out our art in time for the gallery walk, so join us for dinner and bring a painting that will be on display for July/August.  The gallery walk is Friday, July 18th.  For those of you that haven't had the Sylvia's experience - this is your chance to enjoy a great meal and see the gallery space their walls provide.

August 1st early bird deadline for Carol Carter workshop!

It's time to make that decision and register for this great watercolor workshop!  You will be glad you did.  Carol is an amazingly creative artist and teacher.  The WVWS is offering this opportunitiy in conjunction with our 25th anniversary celebration.  You can download the forms here on the blog site!

Wabash Valley Watercolor Society

Paint Out at Tippecanoe Battlefield

June 21, 8 a.m. until ?

Join the Wabash Valley Watercolor Society at the Tippecanoe Battlefield to paint the beautiful scenery around the monument, park and Burnett's Creek.  There are many lovely sites for painting including the small nature museum, the picturesque chapel, the monument, woods and Burnett's Creek.  We will meet in the parking lot at 8 a.m.  However, if you want to come later, follow the stairs beside the small brick Nature Museum down to the creek and you will find some of us.  You can either bring a lunch or we can go to T.C.'s in Battle Ground.  Suggested supplies are mosquito spray, suntan lotion, and a hat.  Hope to see you there!

Plein Air Travel Journal Classes!

It's not too late to sign up for the summer travel journal classes that begin June 9th,  next Monday morning! Download the registration form from my blog: www.jerieartz-artzart.blogspot.com. It's never too early or too late to try something new! Here is my 2 1/2 year old grandson painting plein air with me last week - although he more enjoyed painting on,  his feet than on the paper!
